Texas standoff stretches beyond 12-hour mark

ODESSA, TX (CNN): Police in Texas are locked in a standoff with a gunman who allegedly shot two sheriff's deputies and a civilian.

The standoff has now dragged on for more than 12 hours.

Police say the incident started Friday afternoon when the suspect allegedly wounded the three people.

He reportedly stole an officer's car and was using the police radio to threaten deputies.

He then fled to his trailer home, where he has remained.

Police say the suspect has fired random shots at police and a helicopter throughout the night and the morning.

A neighbor says he's known the man he believes is the shooter since childhood.

He says he's a survivalist, with a bunker under his house and all kinds of weapons, including grenades
